Stina - "Stina"

Stina was born on 15th November 2001 and she is a pepper bitch. Stina is not our own dog. Her owner is Patricia Fraser. The reason why Stina is on our homepages is that she is the dam for the Solakan litter that was born 2005.

Stina´s owner suggested that we would mate Stina and breed one litter from her. She had herself used Stina once so it would be Stina´s second litter. We printed out Finnish Kennel Club papers for this kind of situations, signed them and then later we tried to mate Stina from her next season. First time she stayed empty but on second time se got pregnant and got three puppies. 2 bitches and one dog - all peppers.

Stina had visited us quite often so our home was familiar for her as well as Aatu, Ella and cats. Stina get very well along with them so we thought that this might work out just fine. Stina came to us about two weeks before whelping and stayed until puppies were about 6 weeks old. Before mating we took Stina to eye and knee check and the results will also be found on this page.

By the way, Stina is full sister to Ella´s mother. So that makes her Ella´s aunt. :-) And even though Ella and Stina look very different there are sertain similarities in their characters. You can find some photos from Stina´s photoalbum. :-)

Stina´s character is very attractive. She is calm and gentle. And also nicely soft. There was not a single argue between dogs when Stina was at our home. Stina even allowed Ella to help her nursing the puppies which we thought was pretty amazing! Ella was not allowed to go to puppy pool and she did not even try to go there but when Stina wanted to spend some time on the soffa or else on the bed with the rest of us and we took puppies there also Stina accepted Ella´s attempts to nurse puppies. When puppies were more than 3 weeks old and Stina felt lazy she just looked at Ella and Ella went to see if something was wrong with puppies. Stina herself could relax and enjoy being cuddled.

So Stina came to us two weeks before whelping and she left when puppies were bit over 6 weeks old. Stina was a first class mother to her puppies. She took very good care of them but yet she was always calm and in no hurry even though puppies sometimes protested a lot. She wanted to go for walk with us until the day of whelping and then few days after it she again joined us to the short walks. When puppies were older she loved the long lasting walks. And we enjoyed her company a lot....especially Ella! Those two - Stina and Ella - were very best friends. :-)

Stina enjoyed sleeping on soffa. And she loved to watch tv with Minna. She slept over her stomack and listened how her belly was cuddled. And boy, she could snore loud when she was totally relaxed! Sometimes she woke up to her own voice and wondered what she had just heared. Her expression when she had just woke up always made us laugh! :-)

We loved to spend those months with Stina when she stayed at our home and cherish those memories. She is a great personality worth getting to know!
And she also left her kind character to her puppies. Of which we are very happy about. Also her easy and rough coat passed on to her puppies. Most of these three puppies are lively and one of them is very lively. But they all are kind and friendly.

After this litter - which was Stina´s second - she got one more litter and then she was spayed. Now she is living with her owner in Tammisaari and she enjoys her "retirement days".
