At the Dog Show itself finnish owned dandies did very well! Minna´s own travelling company included two dandies of which Mira´s father Pipari got World Winner -08 title and Ella´s half sister Milla got excellent and was third in her own class. Congratulations to them both, all partisipants and winners! 9.7.2008. Our beloved old cat Altti was put to sleep on 14.30 pm at Myyrmaki vet clinic. He started to loose weight and went into poor condition only within few days time. He got tumours in his nose chamber and they pushed his left eye and had started to make changes inside of mouth also. And he got some tumours in his loin as well. So we made the one and only but very difficult decisison and let him join Joona to the rainbow bridge. He was more than 16 years old already so there was no need to make him go through the difficult operation. 7.6. Summertime and living is easy...at least on those days when we walk to the little pool or else lake to relax and swim. Water is cool and very nice place to play! And cats spend a lot of time on balcony. They love when it is hot in the sunshine. :-) Solakan dandies, cats and humans want to wish you all a very sunny, warm and most of all relaxing summer! May we all spend many happy moments with our beloved pets, our families and friends! 21.6. Happy 1st Birthday Nuutti !! 11.5. I found a tumour from Aatu´s right frontpaw few weeks ago and it grew to the size of a marble ball only within two weeks. It was removed by surgery and is now healing nicely. Aatu has got this kind of tumour (cutaneous histiocytoma) twice before on his young years. On the first time it was on earflap and on the second time on top of the hock. He also got infected little lupm on top of his head and he got rid of that as well. So now we salute the summer with quite excotic hair style - Aatu has bold forehead and nice long topknot on the back part of his skull. :-) Nuutti was castrated several weeks ago and he has recovered well. The missing testicle was also removed. The stitches are away and Nuutti is back to normal. He plays and jumps a lot and is happy to get rid of his "dress" which stopped him licking the wound. 7.4. 2008 Aatu was operated some weeks ago. Because of his bad mouth fault two canine teeth caused some problems and those were taken off by surgery. At the same time his whole mouth was cleaned and also 3 other teeth were taken off. Operation went well and Aatu recovered quickly. The stitches are away now and his life is back to normal. Aatu was operated by Helena Kuntsi-Vaattovaara who is the first vet in Finland who has specialised to animal dental care both in Europe and USA. Helena works in a clinic called Anident. Congratulations to our old madam and to sweet little sunshine! 13.2.2008 Altti 16 years ! Congratulations to our charming old fellow! 18.1.2008 Aatu 11 years ! Congratulations to the apple of my eye! ----------------------------------------------------- 2007 24.12.2007 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2008! 21.11.2007 Pekko 1 year old ! Congratulations to a little big man! 5.11.2007 Mira was health checked. Results can be found on her own page. 18.8. We got a new family member! Welcome Nuutti! 8.7. Mira at show in Porvoo. Judge was Astrid Aas-Lundava from Estonia. Mira got excellent / BB-3 and judgement was: "Good type. Good head and expression. Strong neck. Good withers and backline. Very well angulated front and rare end. A bit loose on elbows. Moves with good drive." 26.5. Mira at show again. This time in Helsinki and judge was Brenda Banbury, GB. Mira got excellent / BB, CC and BOB. And judgement was: "Good skull, large dark eyes. Good topknot, dense pigment. Well made oveallwith nice rise over the loin, well anguolated, hocks well down. Thick strong feet, sound on the move, just a tad slack in front, good rare drive. Excellent coat texture on the body. Good tail carriage & furnishing." 13.5. Ella 4 years old! Congratulations to our little princess! 1.5. Mira was at Nastola dog show with her breeder Leila Wikman. Jadge was Maija Mäkinen from Finland. Mira "Good" because of her left lower canine tooth. Judgement was: "Charming feminine junior with good length of body. Good head, ears and eyes. One canine tooth in too tight position. Beautiful neck, good front. Strong body but good flexibility. Good rare end and tailset. Correct coat quality but coat is not in the best show condition. Beautiful movements typical for the breed. Sufficient drive. Hopefully lower jaw will grow stronger. Prize "Good" because of the bite."
15.2. Altti had his 15th birthday ! Congratulations! 12.2. We got the new family member. Tiny kitten called Pekko moved from Pyhtaa to us after Joona had passed away to the rainbow bridge. 20.1. Our beloved cat Joona was put to sleep at 15.45pm. at Kannelmaki vert clinic. HIs desease got suddely worse and he went to poor condition within just one day. So we had no choise but to make a very doffocult decision. It was time for him to go. We want to thank nurses and vet on that clinic for making our last moments togther peaceful and beautiful. We are very grateful from those 12,5 years we could share with Joona and we would have wanted to have many more years but this was all we got. Joona´s grave is at our summer cottage and he sleeps under a big rock which is near pink colured rose. he loved to spend time at summer cottage so that was the best place we could think for him. Rest in peace Joona. We miss you terribly! 18.1. Aatulla 10 years old! This was a very special day - whole 10 years! So we celebrated it with liver paste and sausages and chees. All Aatu´s favourites. Congratulations Aatu! 1.1. Happy New Year!
We celebrated it with our friends in Alvettula. We took long
lasting walks and enjoyed Leila´s cookings. And all you know
Leila know that she is an excellent cook! Thanks you Tarja,
Leila and Marjut for a wonderful time! |
12.8.2008 Summer holidays
are over and we are back to normal routine again.

We have celebrated a birthday today. Veera got her 15th
birthday and Mira her first. :-) Congratulations to
both of them!
